Being in the industry for nearly twenty years, I have a strong understanding of construction products. With that knowledge, I can listen to our customers, learn about their applications, and offer several product options to meet their needs. And since I know all the lines available to White Cap to purchase, I can make sure those products are available. One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to assist every person I come in contact with. I will find the answers my customers need and keep their projects moving on schedule. I know how important our customers' time is, so I treat every situation with a sense of urgency. We had a customer who thought the bolts he needed for a Saturday job were already at the jobsite Saturday morning, when he realized they were not at the jobsite, he called me. I met him at the branch and got him the bolts he needed to keep the job going. One thing contractors may not know about White Cap is that we are truly a one-stop shop. We stay stocked with all the necessary tools, accessories, and safety products for every job. If you need it for a job, chances are we have it. With seven years in the industry, I've developed a strong understanding of construction products and applications. This experience gives me the ability to troubleshoot issues that customers experience in the field, so I can offer ways to improve their process. Having a good depth of knowledge on core products allows me to recommend the perfect product, not just one that will get the job done. The key is to listen to customers, understand what they want to achieve, and then recommend products that will meet the job's needs. We recently had a customer who needed to fill holes in a warehouse floor, and they wanted to use an epoxy. After digging into their application process, I recommended a cementitious repair, saving them a ton of money and, more importantly, getting them a better result since they planned to coat it in the future. Another customer damaged an eight-foot inside corner while pouring a wall. I got a replacement corner from our branch, fit it in my car through the window, and delivered it in time, keeping his project on schedule. Over my five years in the industry (all of those with White Cap), I've worked in the warehouse, counter sales, and now as an account manager. My experience and product knowledge help my customers save money, time, and effort by not having to do the same job twice. When a customer requests a specific product, I always ask about the application to ensure they have the right product for the job. I also want to make sure my customers feel comfortable with our products and materials in their hands, whether they are doing new construction or trying to keep their workers safe. I'll provide them with datasheets, application guides, and installation videos so they feel confident and prepared. Going above and beyond is all in a day's work. One of my customers was in a pinch due to a change order, and they needed trench drain material sooner than it would get here by freight. I drove 3.5 hours to pick up the material so that the contractor could have it first thing in the morning, keeping their project moving and avoiding fines from the project owner.
